I've searched around and read that a lightened crank pulley without a dampener isnt good for our cars. My question is, how is it with the auto cars? I dont think the auto tranny has that much force on the crank like a manual one does. Would it be that bad if i change mine to an undampened lighter pulley?

If the factory didn't think it was necessary, they'd not have spent the money on it. A harmonic balancer is to absorb crank windup, whose primary indication is vibration. If you're running a bazillion rpm all the time, it'd be bad to have a conventional crank with no damper. Back down here on earth, it might matter a little, but not so much that you can find a "Rigid Pully Broke My Crank" thread.

I have a lightened 1-piece pulley on my A/T car. It's been on about a year. I have not actually measured crank bearing wear or anything like that, but the car still runs well. My main concern was the two-piece stocker flying apart someday at 6000 RPM and doing who knows what to the engine bay. Don't get one for looks or for a major performance increase, though.

they dont just fly apart, the outside just stops rotating and the inside keeps spinning, or the outside just falls off from the inside and your belts fall off
