crank main girdle

how many people have the late 1g engine with the crank main girdle?
this thing.

yea 2gs do ... only the 6 bolts had the weak crank bearing caps / girdle

i need to fingure out how comon this is.
i ordered a crank scraper and it doesnt fit, i want my money back but i think that the company thinks im trying to pull some thing. they said that they havent heard of this before. help

i hope this doesnt make my car prone to crank walk.
oh, and if there is any confusion as there usualy is, my car is a 90 and the engine is a 94 because the 94 is what i had laying around and the 90 engine is dead.

don't worry about crank walk ... I believe ALL 7 bolt 4g63s had the girdle like that ... 6 bolts were the other style.

Yup. All 93-94 4G63's have that crank girdle.

The 90-92 engines have the crappier mini-girdle.

ok i was under the impresion that the 90-92 had individual main bering caps.

the company says "We got the pictures, and are trying to figure out where that engine came from. That is not a typical 4G63 layout. I will be in touch"

The outer bearing caps are connected in a 6-bolt, which is why I said "mini-girdle."

It makes it a 7 bolt, every 4g63 made from 92.5-99 is like that.

yes i read the thread. i just wanted some one to say that it was comon so i could show it to the sponsor who i am trying to get my money from. thank you for making me look like an ass.
