i cant even get servers to refresh i only get like 10 of them and when i try to join their ping jumps up to over 1000 and its only with steam i can play my other games like Warcraft: the frozen throne and Starcraft (oh the memories!!!) perfectly fine as well as multiplayer demos i download from the internet.

Did you Uninstall Steam, delete your folders, then re install?
