Soo I'm doing the 3.8 caravan throttle body, almost done using my spare throttle body and a caravan. I almost panicked because my spare only had 1 cable hook up but then I realized my car only has 1 cable and it automatic. Was looking at the modern performance 60mm but they claimed only for manual cars so I did the caravan throttle body. Is there a actual difference in the linkage for a auto or manual car? Because the a604/41te auto as used in the eclipse doesn't have a kick down cable. At least my 99 dosent.. curious if the 60mm would actually fit.

I haven't been able to confirm this, but my suspicion is that the Neon had two different throttle bodies for A/T and M/T models, but the 420A DSMs just had one. I see multiple part numbers for 95-99 Neons, but I can only easily find one for the 420A DSMs.

Thanks Paul. It's been while since I've actually looked at a neon, but they used 3 speed automatics ( with likely a kick down cable based on my transmission rebuilding experience) during the years of the 2g eclipse. Chrysler gave mitsubishi the 41te 4 speed for the 420a because dsms already have 4 speed autos in mitsu motors. Hmm I might end up with a 60mm billet throttle body after all LOL.

I've never noticed any 420A having a different throttle body regardless of tranmission. I don't see any reason the 60mm wouldn't work for you. Modifying a Jeep 60mm throttle body would be cheaper than getting the billet unit, but if money isn't a problem then go for it.

So I've been working on my Frankenstein throttle body from the 3.8 chrysler van. I just don't like the way it's turning out. I could do the jeep mod but. I've decided to order a billet 60mm.
I've taken my spare upper intake plenum out, started cleaning it. Gonna take my burr bits and start porting it and getting it ready.

I'm doing all I can now to improve upon the car, while not having too much down time.
Gonna work on the fuel system after intake mods. Just a refresh with a 190 walboro pump and a fresh set of injectors for now.
