My 1/4 time goal for my car is anywhere in the 12's. I'm currently in the mid-high 13's with only a 255lph for fuel mods. I hope to break 12's with injectors and tuning. But, I'm beginning to consider an added shot of nitrous to get me sold 12 second 1/4 passes. I was thinking a 50shot would do a good job. My question is in regards to what it would take to safely run this shot. The stock internals will hold a 50 shot at 18-20psi correct? Also, my next mod is injectors. I know that 550s are enough for tuning but would 660's benefit me if I decide to use nitrous? Any other info you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Jon

So what is needed to spray saftely. I was thinking of a dry system. Do I simply use the nozzle I want and just not run it more than an alloted amount of time? I know nothing about nitrous so please fill me in?

your mods as they are should consistently get you into the 12s.

You should work on tuning your car and the driver gasket before you go and sink more money on another bolt-on only to find that it requires more than just attaching it to reach your expectations.

That is the problem that I see with the DSM crowd... Our cars are proven to take very well to mods, so much so that people think they can just bolt more parts on to run exactly what the trend setters are running. Many completely overlook the need to tune these mods so that they reach their full potental.

I run 12s on a 14b and 450 injectors and I still am nowhere near the potential of this turbo. Research some tuning pages, invest in a logger, run some race gas, Up the boost, and run 12.9s when you botch the sixty with a 2.0. Hit 12.5 when you nail a 1.7 and go from there.

Dont be every other "tuner" and just buy more stuff. Tuner itslef being a misnomer, Bolt-oner being a much more apropriate projection.

Well good for you that you run 12's on that setup... but i don't plan on consistently running race gas in my daily driver. I want something that doesn't need 115 octane to pull 12's i wanna do it on 93 octane pump gas. I have a logger and am waiting for my injectors so I can tune. Thanks for assuming i'm your average ricer but you are mistaken.

Do not. I repeat do not use a dry kit on a turbocharged car. You should defiently go wet and even better than that is direct port. PM Noslaser he knows everything when it comes to nitrous on our cars, he'll put you in the right direction.

You definitely took that out of context in getting defensive over that.

Perhaps you should read it again from a more objective perspective and it will seem like some good advice.

Why would you prefer to have to fill a nitrous bottle repeatedly at 50 buck a pop over getting race gas when you anticipate the need for speed.

In reality it is best to use the nitrous with race gas anyway... Nitrous is not a fuel and will increase cylinder pressure.

And yes, if you do go the nitrous route... A wet kit is a must.

I'm sorry if I came off too defensive. I'm just stating the fact that I have researched the 4g63 and know a decent amount of information concerning my car. My point is that sometimes I am not racing on the track. If I have a bottle filled with nitrous (which is only around 35 a fill in my area) I can use it sparingly, if I don't need it I won't use it. But, I can't exactly turn a valve and fill my tank with race gas. Therefore nitrous would be an easier and more efficient path for me to take. Regardless I appreciate your guys input, it will help me to determine the correct system for my setup.
