Hi there, Im having one of those days where nothing goes right. One of those days when everything is pissing you off and on top of that your DSM decides to act up, heres my story Im hoping one of you can help.

As I went home for lunch to drop off some newly mounted tires and wheels, the car was running fine and great (bone stock). As I was going over the freeway, it decides to die. No clutch pushed in (disabled clutch switch) car started fine. *put in gear* car dies, so I pressed the clutch in and started it, rough start totally did not want to start so I got back to my school for the end of the day. After searching tuners all day I thought "no way, 6 bolt crankwalk, NO!". After school I noticed some sludge on the ground, black smelt like gear lube or tranny fluid. Tested by doing a series of right turns, no die, no crankwalk.

Low on oil, so why not throw a quart in, DSMs you never know. Ride home was rough now, when you engaged the clutch, clicking echos from the bell housing and still dies with the engagement of the clutch for more than 4 seconds, so you have to quick shift. Also putting it in gear with clutch fully in, it rolls a little.

So Im home talking to local DSMers on the phone, and most dont understand til I walk outside to learn there is a pool of gear lube/trans fluid under the transfer case/tranny. Instantly Im thinking the seal of the output shaft, but why the clunking from the bell housing and vibrations from the wheels?

Im so clueless right now...HELP:barf:

PS car still runs fine and starts fine when started in neutral and drives fine with the exception of vibrations going through the wheels you just have to shift quick and slave nor clutch master is the problem...

with the clutch pushed in and it rolling sounds like your clutch is dragging. try doing the adjustment shown here in the video Jacks Transmissions LLC — Tech Articles. this might help you although it won't fix the leak. it could also very well be your throw out bearing. when i shattered mine it made an awful noise when i engaged the clutch although i don't remember it trying to die on me

I was also thinking the TOB, thankyou for the link, Im done to try anything before I drop this trans.

TOB wouldn't have anything to do with that leak, and that leak seems to be a hard one to ignore. If you have the time (car disabled for a bit) and tools, consider dropping the tranny yourself. Mechanics aren't cheap and you'll become one with your DSM.

Yes I'm dropping it Thursday or Friday with a good tech guy off here. I never send it to shops...right now my main concern is the clunking and I'm pretty sure the input shaft seal went bad.

As for the leak, I was told that it could be the ball in the viscous coupler...
