I was just wondering if anyone knew of something to remove to make getting to the cotter pin on the clutch master cylinder rod easier? I have removed everything under the driver side dash then the cotter pin broke so now there is just a little nub and not enough room to get pliers in there. Any help would be appreciated.

They do make cotter pin removal tools, they're hardened hooks in a screwdriver handle. I don't know if there's enough room up in there to get one into the loop. Welcome to the hell of mechanics. Ask the oldest parts man at your local NAPA shop what they have.

i had a similar problem
found a trick though the rod you use to adjust the pedal after the cottor pin just keep turning it while holding the nut and it will eventually unscrew and you can remove the master cylinder the part with the cottor pin will just stay there
