I have this clicking noise in my dash on the drivers side when I am at higher RPMs. Sounds like a plastic clicking, its not from the engine. Help if you can. I have the egt and boost gauge on thta side am pretty sure it is not one of them.

Thanks for your feedback but I already researched that and from what I understand that clicking sound comes from behind the radio, and stinks witch mine does neither of. Unless the sound is resonating in such a way that it is the loudest to in the extreme drivers side left...... Im at a loss.
I will pull my dash and that apart and check the ECU anyway. If anyone else has more input, please help a guy out

i had the same prob and it was only a metal box behind the radio that was clicking and it needed to be tightened, but that was mine, good luck with urs!

isn't that the ECU?

I've got something similar in what appears to be in the 4" speaker grille area on the top of the dash, driver's side... I have tried almost EVERYTHING to try and fix this rather annoying rattle.-Still no luck. It only seems to act up when it gets cold outside, otherwise, it doesn't make any noise. -PLEASE let me know what you find, as I have yet to take out the dash, but I've looked into everything from the top after pulling the speaker, and from below, after pulling the lower dash pannel. -Nothing's loose -ARGH!! .. I'm this close to shooting some expanding foam in the damn thing!

dude i have the same exact sound mine acts up when cold, drivers side left, from dash it seems, if i open my door i can't hear it - originally i thought it was coming from the engine compartment but i don't think it is.

mine makes the noise between 900-1500 rpms...

My clicking is happening between 3 and 4 thousand Rpm and between 10 and 14 pounds of boost. It does not happen when I rev the car up past 4000 in nuetral though. Im going to go disconnect by aftermarket boost gauge. Then just start ripping apart my interior to find it. IT IS SOOO ANNOYING.. Ill post when and if I find what it is. If I dont post again it means I drove my car off a cliff in frustration.

Just a quick note, the ECU caps is generally a 1G thing. I don't even know if the 2G cars use the same kind of caps in the computer.

Some people have complained that the speedo clicks at certain ranges, that would explain the symptoms some of you guys describe. 1Gs have a cable driven speedo, 2G is probably the same. Might be worth looking into.

2gs aren't cable driven. and my clicking noise would happen at a standstill or a roll so that rules out those possibilites for me anyway.

not that i know of - we have a door beeping beeper thinger

but no seat belt buzzer just a light..

If you have guages on your pillar make sure the pillar is tight against the windshield. If it is not it will rattle a bit. :thumb:

damnit im hearing the sound more often now!!!!! it usually clicks once or twice after starting the car after a cold night but I noticed it also when I started driving after I warmed it up. I don't warm my car up to the point where its at mid temperature but I warm it up enough to start driving. I notice it at around 1-2k rpms and then it goes away, I thought it was just my front foglight rattling against my bumper cause it was coming from directly in front of me so I just assumed so.

When it started happening yesterday, I opened the door to see where it was coming from but I couldn't hear it over the idling of the car. All I know is that it's coming from directly in front of the driver, some you guys say it isn't coming from the engine bay but I believe mine is coming from the camgear area.

Well I think that I found it... Although I wasn't too happy when I did. -It seems like the hood's Driver's side hinge is somhow out-of-round and with certain engine vibrations, it would rattle like mad.

I thought that it was comming from inside the cabin area, but someone was saying something about their cam cover and I figured, what the heck, I'll check it out... I ended up feeling the most vibrations from the actual windshield, that led me to the other side of the firewall and that's what I found... a rubber stopper will do the trick for now.
