I know I’m always talking about domestic or .... A Honda in the hangout forum but I enjoy the Cleetus McFarland channel. To see what they accomplished WCF ‘19 was pretty amazing considering they literally changed to a entirely different clutch setup the day before World Cup! To be such a small independently operated crew it’s amazing to watch them work hard to do what others often talk about. Does anyone else watch/enjoy this channel?

I’m a nurse and work 7P-7A so I usually have a 3-4 day stretch I’m off so I can keep up. I wish someone would start a DSM focused channel and it’d be perfect. If I lived in a more populated area I’d definitely do it but there’s very few car guys much less DSM guys. I’ve made some videos covering some of my project building my 98 GSX but haven’t posted them cause there boring. Once I’m back on the road I plan on posting quite a few and go from there. Cleetus has his videos on point so it’s good to see how it’s done. They’ve got a few badass car builds going on that are just sick.

They are also backed by MONEY. I seem to be lacking in that department.......:idontknow:
He does present a good channel, but I don't know that it is all pocket money they use.

There are quite a few DSM focused channels...but...theyre just DSMs. Its not gonna be as popular as a Mount'n Dew dranking bald eagle screamin Cleeters channel LOL

I watch his channel almost every day. To create content as much as he does you need multiple build and deep pockets. Not sure if enough people want to watch multiple DSM builds. Motion Auto TV has a 1G DSM build they are doing. Might want to check out their channel.

I agree with some of you, I just can get behind cars with bottomless pocketbooks, because its not about talent at that point, its just about money spent, we all know the most expensive way to make a fast car in general or a fast Dsm, the talent comes from self engineering solutions on your own due to money constraints and still have a fast car, this is why Im not impressed/nut swinger on some of the cars that are running single digits cough cough (red 2g) because if you gave me his budget and gave me a full time job just making a fast car with that kind of money, I would be running 5's right now, YES nice car (it should be), and nothing personal here, but ahem...

There's nothing inherently wrong with what these channels are doing, but these bottomless-budget builds are kinds of like fast food or candy. Once you've watched a couple, you've watched them all and it starts to make everything less interesting. For example, the Hoonigan channel is constantly bringing on these Ken Block (whoever that is) cars that are just absolute perfect specimens with every part and modification you'd ever want in a car...and it was all built by the very best people in the industry. If you thought that v8, twin turbo $200k mustang build was cool, just wait a week and there will be some perfect $100k s2000 or some 1000hp widebody truck build with an engine that's worth more than your whole car. That's just one Youtube video. You go out and look at your car in the garage and you're embarrassed.

That's actually very true. I think my car looks amazing. And I know how much work has been put into it (by me anyway). But if you put it side by side with a car that somebody spent tens of thousands of dollars on little parts, then it won't look so great anymore.

I watch Cletus on the regular, yes he's making bank on it but they seem to legitimately have fun doing it. If I was in his position I'd take full advantage of it while I could. YouTube fame can end just as fast as it starts.

I'm doing what I can on my channel with the budget I have but with only around 5k subs, the channel only buys about 1 tank of gas a month LOL. I'm doing it more in the hopes of inspiring new young dsmers to hopefully do things the correct way and not build a dsm from ebay. Its not easy to get content up on a regular basis when you have a full time and then some job.

I watch Cleetus on the regular and other YouTubers such as Adam LZ, B is for Build as well. Its entertaining and the builds are pretty dope too. But they do have a lot more expendable income than I have. Ive been inspired by them to do my own YouTube channel as well with my cars and manly toys. I have a DSM of course, a GTE swapped GS300, RSX Type S, GSXR 1000, and many quads as well. But I dont think I could ever be as entertaining as those guys and I definitely dont have the funds they have so my content would be limited. Any of you guys have ideas on how to get followers and views?
