I tried using Meguiar's Hot Rims spray on, spray off cleaner on my stock Laser rims. You know, the mesh style ones. Well, not much of the years of caked on brake dust came off. So try again and use a brush. A little more came off, but all the elbow grease I applied couldn't get these wheels clean.
These rims are a b*tch to clean in the first place because of the design but it appears as if the previous owner never cleaned these wheels even once.
Is there a stronger wheel cleaner that might work or is this just a pointless exercise? What if I just cover the dirt by painting these rims black? Will the paint last?
