Bought a parts car 2gb GS: Going to use pretty much the entire interior from this car. Also using whatever body parts to get the conversion to 2gb completed. Will have 420a parts to sell once this is completed.

Finally had a chance to looking at cranking the GSX as well. When I purchased the car I was told needs the clutch replaced and came with the parts to do so. In the process we replaced the starter and fuel pump. Additionally learned some interesting things: the starter plate was not installed and the 2 that were in the back of the car were for automatic trans; the manual trans in the car is from a 97-99, and we were unsure about the transfer case. After quite a bit of trial and error and googling we got it squared away. Went ahead and check for crankshaft play which was good and cranked her over. She fired up on the first try, which is impressive since the car sat for at least 2-3 years.

Striping the vapor barrier sealant was a pain in the rear. Recommend using 3M adhesive remover. I poured the liquid in a spray bottle, used a ton of terry cloth towels and a 90 degree pic. Huge difference maker.

  2. Window regulators installed
  3. Adjusted all guides
  4. Outer door seal trim
  5. Door power lock latch
  6. Door handle
  7. Power mirror
Side note: not mentioned above but removed the upper door window seals and drip rails from the parts car and will use the best combination for the GSX.

Morning All! Been a minute since I posted an update had some things going on and was not able to get much done until last weekend.

Had to retrim the crash bar because I had the intercooler too far forward. Then trimmed the inside of the mouth of my 2gb bumper cover. Installed new OEM replacement headlights as well as ITP LED slim fit fog lights. Attempted to replace my condenser with some O'reilly's garbage and it broke while trying to install. So currently no condenser in the vehicle. May try to get the original one tested for leaks and just reuse it or find another aftermarket solution, but that can wait until the engine is pulled for rebuild later. Also replaced the vapor barrier on the passenger side door. All pictures to follow...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMxHqfXNQ8k

Last weekend we accomplished the following:
  1. Threw the battery in and tested all the lights.
  2. Installed black dash with pass airbag
  3. Installed steering wheel and airbag
  4. Installed glove box
  5. Installed center console and side trim
  6. Repair the latch for the arm rest compartment (not pictured)
  7. Installed vapor barrier on drivers door
  8. Installed door panel on drivers door (not pictured)
Yes I chose not to install my brand new replacement carpet yet as the car will be having the motor pulled and going for complete paint, it will go in last when I finalized interior choices for seats and such...
