Disassembled a built short block I bought from a local. Just wanted your opinions to see what you guys think. Personally they look pretty good and nothing abnormal except there seems to have been some dirt and contamination on a few of the bearings. There were some deep grooves I could feel. Listed from 1-4. I plan on just getting new bearings and throwing them in.

Here are the rods listed 1-4. Everything on the crank seems to check out. All the rod journals are spot on at 1.7707". The main journals are measured anywhere from 2.2431" to 2.2436" with a out of round of no more than 0.0002".

How many miles on the build?

What was the reason for pulling the engine apart?

How are the rod bearings?

Not sure on the miles. I bought it off a local who parted out the car that they bought off someone else. They claimed 3000 miles or less. I pulled it apart because I know nothing about this motor and didn't want to throw this motor in without at least gaining a bit of knowledge on how well it was assembled. The rod bearings are the last 4 pictures shown.

Looks like you have something decent to work with.

Clean the crank oil galleys the best you can. and go on with the build.
