changing the oil pan gasket

is there anything major i need to know before i do it??
how long do you think it will take someone with more than average auto repair skills?.. (hahaha got my friend to do it )

There is a bunch of stuff you need to move out of the way, I can't rember all of it, but stuff like crossmembers, the downpipe, the carrier bearing, etc, all could be in the way.

I'd give him at least a couple hours, depending on if he's done it before.
