So I recently had my car into the dealer (drivers front wheel fell off! It was due to a recalled control arm assembly, check into that if you haven't already) ... and when I got it back, my (stock) infinity stereo deck won't work. It is asking for a "code" and wants me to enter a 4-digit number. I guess this is a security code, and that it got reset when my battery was unplugged. Anyone know the code or where I can find it?

thanks!

hey guys i have the same problem although i know it doesnt have to do with the anti theft system b/c i have gone throught that before and i know this aint it.......i blew the tailamp fuse so my dash lights wouldnt work but everything else did, so i replaced the fuse but now i cant hear my radio!! it turns on and everything and i can play a cd or tune the stations but no sound!!! please help guys thanx

I thought I'd start this thread for those who wish to help others by listing their serial number and security code for the Infinity stereo.

Serial - Code
52139488 A - 9148

Please feel free to add yours, it only takes 10sec to take the trim off the radio and is of great benefit to others. :thumb:

what good is this going to be for anybody but the person that ownes the head unit???, each one is different as far as i know. :nono:

Well I figured if there's a specific number of serials then anyone who has that serial will have the code for it. And if others were to put other codes/serials down, then we'd have a decent sized list.

BTW no need for the ":nono:" ... I just thought I'd try to help out in some way. I'm sure there's a bunch of people on here with the stock stereo who've lost their codes; I was one. If all the serials are different you can just tell me that, but I doubt that every stereo has a different serial and therefore a different code.

i'm just playin' with the smilies, i just want to get the most out of them!!!. Anyway, actually every head unit does have it's own serial and code, so no good there, but it was a nice gesture on your part. Sometimes i think i come off as a major hole on here, but i think it's only because it's typing on the internet and theres only so much feeling that you can get across with a keyboard unless you want to make each post a page long (and even then) but actually i'm about the biggest class clown you will ever meet so, again don't take it so hard when i bust balls bro' (s). This goes for everyone reading this too!!! :nono: :D

but there is the possibility that if we got a comprehensive enough list we could find a pattern... I'm sure that there's someone that's on here that would like the challenge of cracking the OEM infinity radio codes... then a keygenerator could be made where you enter your serial number and you get your code... of course, that's asuuming they use any kind of pattern to determine their codes... which they may not.

Ok, I have just had my first encounter with the security code deal on the stock 1998 eclipse Infinity head unit. I do not yet have a manual because the guy that owned the car prior lost it. I lost power to the car and the head unit (after reconnecting the battery) now asks for a security code...for anti-theft purposes. So i contacted the stupid idiots at my local mitsubishi dealership and asked about it. They told me to reomove the bezel around the radio and get the serial number, then call it in to them, and they will look up my code.

I now have the code..finally. However, when i put in the code i cant figure out how to enter it. I put in the 4 digits and it just sits there, how do i enter the code to finalize it and let me listen to music again? Thanks for ur help, plz repond if you know i would like music for my ride to school tomarrow. :thumb:

All you do is put your four digits in, and push the button on the top left corner. I belive it's the tape button. Sorry I would check and tell you which button it is for sure but I'm at work and can't leave to check. Hope this helps

You press the Channel 1 button for the first number (if it's "4", you press it four times), 2 for the second, 3 for the third, and I'll leave it to you to figure out what to do to get the fourth one.

Be aware you lucked out. Many dealers want $45 for the code.

Now, get your ass over to eBay and get a 2G owner's manual. The year isn't crucial.

hey I just finished wiring up my gages on my GSX and I blew a fuse for the radio and interior Gage lights. Now my radio works fine but when I press the CD button it does nothing. I can't even get the changer cartridge out of the back..

the person i bought my car from luckily for me wrote it in the manual in the radio section. but i didnt find that out til i went to the dealer to find it out. the one i went to did it for free, but i've heard of people paying the dealer to give them the code. but thats the only way that i know of is going to the dealer. just go around to different ones til either u find the cheapest one or best of all, for free. but u need to have the code from ur cd deck for them to look it up also. it's not too hard too hard to get that code on ur deck, it's either on one of the sides or the back

hey.. i had the same problem. thank you kiersev1. i called the dealer he suggested (954-283-1000) he helped with no problem..and was nice about it. he suggested that if you get the off message to turn the car to on like stated earlier 4 an hour and a half. should have the stereo reading "off" while you wait.i am waiting now. thank you all 4 your help..again..LOL. i love this site
