Two Saturdays ago my car didn't start, it was -17, so I figured it was the battery. Ended up having it towed, and told that my valves were likely bent. No engine compression, cylinders leak oil past the rings and valves. The head has not been taken off yet, that's next..
The kicker, the t-belt is FINE. I had it replaced a year ago, car was running good, and it did not slip/break. No misfiring, clunking, banging, booming, backfiring..
I've never heard of this happening, have you? My only thoughts were that maybe the rings froze..

To the mods who want to move this thread into tech: Please leave it, I want people to read it. Leave me alone, I have been on this site a long time. I even have your stickers and t-shirt. Some guy on here bought me the tshirt, but that's another story, point is I wear it.

If the head wasn't pulled off, how do you know oil leaks past the pistons?

And when have rings frozen? Never heard of that on an active car.

Any pics of you or the cars engine?

There are pictures of me on here, go find them.

Anyway, I was told it leaks, all the mechanic took off so far was the valve cover..Compression test was 75-8-10-1

No one has any input how/why this would happen?

hmm... wiht compression numbers like that its doubtful its a bent valve' unless its to the point where the just a very little tincy wincy bent.. but like i said doubtful.. it actually sounds like your head gasket went... are you sure you were running an even 50/50 mix of coolant and anti freeze? honesly mechanic's are dumb ass's, Rings dont freeze and valve's dont bent while the car isnt running..

ide say swap the head gasket, reset the timeing and watch waht happen's...

^^^^

Lmao.

Why should you be allowed to post a tech question in a non-tech forum?
Just because have site swag? Because "some guy" bought it for you?
What makes you so special?

Thread moved.

Ummm... yeah:toobad:

Sarah, I think you should of posted this in another forum. (You already know that ROFL ) Anyways, I really think the place you took your car to where just giving you the run around. Those compression numbers are whack too.WTF

Conclusion: Worst flooded engine the mechanic has ever seen.
No oil in the cylinders, and dried out rings hence the poor compression.
$120, 8 days at shop, oil change, welded exhaust, and he even windexed all my windows as I pulled out, I had to refrain from laughing.

Wow, your lucky! You had me worried about that. Im very happy that things turned out better for you. Something like that around here would of cost alot more, ALOT MORE.
