i just bult my moter and put it in. the car will start but will jump strate the red line without hitting the gas. the trottle stays closed too. i cheacked all the vacume lines and changed the tps map idle air control ant the throttle body any ideas ### help:thumb:

What about the throttle cable? Leave the two bolts on the intake manifold loose and start the car, then when you get idle about right tighten them up.

This happened to my 1g awd, when the battery hit the hood and fried the ecu and all associated wiring. I hate to say it, but I had to replace the wiring harness and that solved it. I tried everything from a new ecu, to a new cable, adjusting the cable and so on.

Look for vac leaks and check your TPS. It should click when you turn the key on. You can take it out and clean it also.

Check all your wires, make sure none are shorted or shorting to anything at the ecu.
