Can my electrical system handle two 12V 80W slimfans?

I had 2 1400cfm slimlines and my electrical did not like me, removed one, electrical now likes me again and it cools just fine. Then again I have no need for 2 as I removed the AC all together.

If you're replacing due to failing/failed fans, you should be ok as long as the don't run 100% of the time together. Just bare in mind your alternator will hate you when that situation occurs.

I run 2 of them.. on all the time, i jumped the temp switch. No problems ever. If your worried, you could use stock to energize a relay and give them power from a fused source rated for higher current (similar to a fuel pump rewire).

Goodluck.

I run a stocker and a 1600cfm with no issues. The car usually runs two fans anyways so it should be no different. I would suggest wiring them in to shut off, this way they will last longer.

Well I just took a hit for the team for ya - I got that fan set on the way to see how decent it is. That's a pretty good deal if it's reliable. I'm going to wire up a battery relay though so it doesn't stress my electrical system. I'll let you know how it turns out :D

grnchevyz, I am replacing my fans because I put an FMIC on my car and I live in Phoenix (120F)

JayRolla, I will wire them to shut off and run them full time only at the track.

lacroixdp, I am interested to see how you wire that relay. I have a set of fans on the way as well and want to do the same

Yup - just strip the ends, connect the input to the high line, then output that would normally go to the lights go to the fans instead. Just make sure you solder and heat shrink your wires and you'll be good to go :D

I assume I need 1 harness per fan if I want them to turn on and off the same was as they are now (main fan for engine cooling, both for AC) correct ?

BTW I love the shrink wrap... no more messy electrical tape ftw :)

Hmm... to be honest I haven't thought about that part. I don't use the A/C, so I was just going to have both kick on when the thermostat tripped. I suppose you could just tap the A/C line over to the relay too - both fans would run instead of just one though. Yah shrink wrap is dirt cheap by the roll at Harbor Freight :D

I finally got my fan in the mail today and quite frankly I don't see how this thing is going to come even close to pushing as much air as the stock fans. These things came in a box not much bigger than a cereal box. The blades on them are super-thin. I don't think I trust them enough to install them on my car, but I will hook them up to my battery and see how much air they move. If it feels anywhere near what the stock fans feel like, I'll go ahead and install one and see how it goes.

Seems like overkill to me. I run a 1200cfm fan on an aluminum honda radiator in a puller config. It has no problem keeping the 63t cool.

I think if I didn't have my A/C intact, it probably wouldn't have any difficulty with the task. Those stock fans move quite a bit more air though. I think I'm going to hold off until I have no other choice than to go slim.
