Can I take off my valve cover without tearing the gasket?

Can I take off my valve cover without damaging the gasket? I have a valve knocking noise that I need to get under there... thanks.

Yep usually. But if you valve cover gasket hasn't ever been replaced it may be hard to do without tearing it. I would recommend replacing it (if it was on since 1990) along with the plug hole gasket and the half moon gasket. The oil mess if it leaks isn't worth it. Good luck :thumb:
