Cam Gears...

Not very much and you need to be on the dyno to tune any real gains from them .

The point to adjustable cam gears is to "degree" your cams in properly.

That is mainly an issue with webcams and crower cams, which can be SEVERAL degrees off, therefore cuasing problems with idle. HKS cams are known to be just about perfectly degreed out of hte box.

Your stock cams are going to be degreed just about perfectly from mitsubishi.... no need for cam gears.

Maybe but w/o a dyno it's tough to tell.

From what I hear the HKS cams are pretty well degreed. Adjustable gears with webb cams would probably be more beneficial, depending on which grind you use.

From what i have read it is beneficial on stock 2g cams to advace timing 1-2 degrees and retard by 3 degrees. I also know that the 1g manual cams are an ude to the stock 2g. I have obx adjustable gears on my stock cams. I have not tuned them yet. I am planning on addding a 1g head with cams from a manual until i have funds for aftermarket. If anyone else has a reply to theis or has been successful in gains with stock cams without letting the pistons meet the valves (haha) lemme know.
