I just bought a Head from someone and when I bought it the guy had disassembled it. I go to put it back together and noticed on one of the cam bearings the last one on the exhaust cam on the side where the cas is.

I just wanted to know if this will effect the head because I really don't want to bolt it up and not be good. The scratches are about the size of mechanical pencil lead. There are three of them going in the same direction as the cam would go long ways. I have some pictures to help show the scratches they are kinda hard to tell but I think you can get a rough idea of what it looks like.

Any advice would be helpfull thanks!

Posting it once would have been fine.

Cam bearings are huge- compare their area to a rod that's pushing fifty horsepower. Those scratches won't matter at all. If there's anything there you can feel with a fingernail, lightly dress it down with some crocus cloth. Or, just ignore it and let the bearing journal do it. There's nothing in that aluminum that's going to bother a steel bearing surface.

Next time, use the picture of the flower on your camera's do-hickey wheel.

Sorry for posting twice I couldn't figure out how to delete one. The pictures came out blurry because it was taken under a light and the glare from the metal was affecting the picture. Next time ill be sure to use the flower button for better pics. Once again thanks for all the help.
