I am in the process of putting together a new race motor, however, i am running with little modification right now. I am trying to figure out what i am going to do in the electronics department, and was thinking about an AEM EMS. I know this is alot more than i need right now, but i would like to get something in the car so when i am ready, i can drop the new motor in and go get it dyno tuned......with my mostly stock setup, (intake, ported/clipped 14B, 3" exhaust and downpipe) will i be okay to run an EMS, or will i be in over my head........as well, what does everybody reccomend- MAS or Speed Density??? Thanks, Ben.

speed density would be the way to go.. having participated in a 1G EMS installation already, i can tell you, it is FAR from plug and play. good luck..

i wouln't recommend it unless you have easy dyno access or a LOT of time to tune..

I agree with HighPSI TSi Guy, unless you are REALLY good at tuning and have a ton of time on your hands I suggest you stay away. The EMS is incredible for what it can/will do but its a damned nightmare at the same time ot try and configure and get your car running right.

In my experience the EMS's base prgram works good enough to get you to a dyno. It WILL take a while to install and get running even fairly good as said above, but it is by far, IMO, the best system out now!

But I also can tell you from experience, if you do not have the know how to tune and run your car with a standalon, even if you will have someone tune and dyno the car for you, DO NOT get one;)

14b (clipped:confused: ) is a very mild setup and there is no need to go standalone. Working your way up gradually will always teach you more abotu your car than going all out at once.
