Ok, so the motor rebuild was almost 300miles old before one of the rockers desided to break into pieces. Cam has some serious scrapes and valve tip off the top of the spring is damaged.
I have 272 hks cams on intake and exhaust. Has any one broken a stock valve spring? Since this projects is both my brothers and mine, we decided not to spend the extra money for new set of high performance valve springs. Wish I would have listened to my guts.
Since it looks like the head may need to come off to remove the valve, should we use HKS valve springs?? The rev limit will probably stay the same but....if we get some nice springs, we may up the rpms to get the most out of the 20g turbo.
It's going to take a while before we get the car going again but we do plan on buying new rocker arms for both intake and exhaust. Any after market ones we can use??? I don't understand why it broke?? Original mileage on the valvetrain is 104k miles.
