i got a 98 eclipse spyder 2.0 dohc. just started work on it and found oil in the coolant. didnt have a leakdown tester so i just checked the compression. 2&3 was arround 30 psi less so i figure headgasket blown between the two. i plan on turning the boost up and a couple other things so when i replace the headgasket should i tourque a couple pounds extra on some bolts to help gaskets with the extra psi from the turbo. and is 14 to 15psi safe for my motor. thanks

and is 14 to 15psi safe for my motor. thanks

With a stock turbo and injectors you probably won't get to 14 or 15 lbs. Your injectors will reach their peak and you will run lean. Running lean will cause detonation and ultimately hurt the engine. You will at least need larger injectors and some kind of tuning device.

Yea what he said, It might not hit fuel cut, but it will run in the danger zone. My friends GST with stock fuel system, no tune, his 20lbs on a 14b. But I keeeeep telling him.

As for the headgasket. I got the ARPs and torqued them to 90 ft/lbs havent had a problem yet. My last gasket when between 3 and 4. It was a MLS. This one is an OEM mitsu.

I have stock fuel on my 16g and I go up to 20lbs because of boost creep but my LC1 tells me Im not lean.
I stay out of wot though because your hg will blow from incorrect ratio conditions.
14 psi is plenty safe if you read around. I wouldnt go over 16psi on stock fuel though. (Stock turbo wont get 15psi? Dunno what thats about.)

yeah ill be honest. i know cars but not much about this one. i had just read arround and seen others sayin they were getting 16 to 18 on stock turbo. i started in on the headgasket 2day and its alot more than it looked like just lookin down on it. 5000 nuts and bolts to keep up with and seperated. but will b up and goin soon.

After you replace your Head gasket and head bolts to ARP studs get a wide band O2 and air/fuel ratio gausge to be safe if u plane on running higher boost. its cheap for just the DD and safer to have one than not having one at all.

arp head studs with a cometic head gasket dsm link v3 and bigger injectors :)

^^^ This x2. You would be surprised how much more juice you will be able to squeeze in the long run by doing those 4 things.
