Hey guys I had recently done a boost leak test with a bike pump but never got the results I wanted (leaking air yada yada...). Anyway, I borrowed a compressed nitrogen tank from my dads shop today and was about to go ahead and run it with that. Just wanted to make sure it was alright to do it with nitrogen. Its non flammable so I dont see any problem but just wanted to double check. Thanks again :dsm:
One mroe thing...I have been having problems successfully getting air through the valve stem as it has required about 50 psi of air. I dont wanna put that much pressure through the pipes for obvious reasons so my question is are there different types of valve stems? Ones with rubber needles as opposed to metal or could someone reccomend what type of valve stems they used?

It shouldn't be a problem if you're just using it to pressure test. After all, 98% of the atmosphere is nitrogen. However, if you're leaking with a bike pump, you're still going to leak with a pressurized cannister. Fix the leaks.

Oh, and don't over-pressurize the intake system either. 20psi should be more than enough, and you should be able to hold it for a reasonable amount of time (10-30s or so) without adding any more gas.

Don't forget a spray bottle of soapy water, if you need help tracking down hisses in a general vicinity.
