I have a 90 tsi awd and i haven't driven it for a while......i just started it up to drive it a few days ago and whenever the motor gets around 4000 rpm's it just shoots back down to 2000rpms before it hits boost....what could this be?

So by your thread's title are you asking if this is a boost leak? It sure sounds like one to me, a big one, like when an IC coupler blows off :dsm:
 
Yeah thats what i'm asking......i'll check the intercooler piping couplers. Is there anything else it could be though? Is that usually what happens when our cars are leaking boost that badly? It'll rev fine if i'm in neutral but when im driving it thats when it acts funny. Are there any other possibilitys?
