DAMN IT! im pissed i just got done puting my galant back to gether and as i try to pull out of the garage i realize how incredably screwed i just may be... ANYWAY... i was insalling my S.P.E.C. stage one clutch in my car along with the BM Tranny LSD insert now when i let the clutch out in R the thing kills like the brake is on (the car doesnt move at all) and when the shifter is in neutral it acts like it is in gear and its very hard to shift as well. i checked the shifter linkage and it seems to be doing what it is susposed to as far as moving the levers on the trans around my only guess is it has something to do with me screwing this step up: http://bmtranny.escic.com/images/000_0386.JPG help me please! im thinking my only option is to remove the tranny again and check this but id like a response or two before i do that   :barf:

no the clutch works great its when i let the pedal out the problem ocures, there is no neutral or reverse  i emailed the guy who wrote up the article on how to install the LSD he said it was eather the 5/reverse rail is out of place or the linkage on the belhousing is bent and i know its not the second option. thanks for the replys any way!!!

sounds like the rail is out of place.it was hard to get it right on one i rebuilt.it has to be lined up with the shifter thingy and the reverse gear arm.could be stuck in 5th/r and also in another gear when you try to move.

i ran into this with mine the 3rd time i put my tranny back together. i did everything in order and 4 times the thing would do EXACTLY what you said yours did (and all the rails were still in place) finally i got frustrated went and had dinner and went back, started over again and it worked - asked no questions and drove it for 3k miles

the only thing is i thought i did everything right acording to the insall article but i still cant figure out what they are trying to tell you to line up in the pic i included. do i just need to try again because maybe i moved it when puting the case back on

always check it before you put it back in

possibilties:

The shift rail came off the linkage at the bottom when you were removing it.

did not re-assemble the 5th gear assembly correctly

did not get the bolt back in the reverse shaft correctly

clutch disk in backwards

mostly it sounds like #1
