Just wanted to let you guys know that this stuff really works.

We have a 2003 Nissan Altima 2.5 that has 193,000 miles and it started having a really rough idle on a cold start. It threw a CEL for misfire code. Pulled it in the garage, pulled the plugs and when I looked inside the #4 cylinder, there was coolant pooling in. Literally saw coolant filling the cylinder. It's a common issue with these motors above 150k. Since it needed tires as well, we weren't sure about putting money into her. The interior and body are in great shape so I was torn. Looked into replacing the head gasket and the cost would've been about $400, but I was worried about getting the block decked as well since it had an aluminum block and I only saw MLS hg's for this application. We decided to try Blue Devil, $40 plus new thermostats and gaskets, $25. To my surprise, it worked! This was two weeks ago. No rough idle, CEL went away on its own and it drives like a champ.

I personally wouldn't use this on my dsm, but for any other car, I'm willing to give it a shot.

    True mechanic in a bottle!

That's awesome that it worked. But on any engine with real power, or high rpm's, as soon as you gas it the hg will disintegrate LOL

I’d imagine it will but it’s perfect for this application. Wish I knew the science behind it.

According to the guys on Youtube, it's heat activated. So once it enters the imperfect spot on the hg, it hardens and stays there. I'm not sure how much I like the idea of that though. I could see it hardening in spots that it shouldn't, and causing more problems.

This is more of an emergency type thing. Maybe I should buy some of this for my brother for his birthday ROFL

Tony, my youngest son used it on our DD 1989 Honda Accord and it helped but didn't quite fix it so he thru a 2nd bottle in it and that thing is still running around our town with no problems, other than the driver.....not really mechanically inclined but he is driving the car. That was 2 years ago.

I am hesitant about this but I'm in a similar situation. My daily is a 1999 toyota 4 runner with 295k. I know its leaking coolant into a cylinder. But it only causes problems for the first 15 or 20 sec of cold startup and it loses coolant over time.

Our Honda was basically the same condition Paul. I know I was calling it "snakeoil" and super skeptical, but since it was my son's money, I said, "you can try it" as a head removal would have meant removing 20-30 vacuum lines on that car that all went into one big "box" and would have been a nightmare to put back together.
I just know that it worked and is still working in the car, as we see it in town all the time.
That Honda wasn't a hotrod nor did it ever get the piss ran out of it. It was just the boys school car and somehow made it through 8 years of us having it and now a year with its new owner. We didn't have problems until about a year before I sold it so it is in its 2nd year with that stuff in it.

Once I was done with what the instructions stated, I let it sit for two days because I was waiting for a valve cover gasket. I check both days and it was dry.

Pauley it’s less than $100, that beats doing a hg on a v6 runner. Those things are a beast. It’s perfect for your situation. Try it and you don’t even have to thank me. Lol. All you have to do is pull the tstat and flush the coolant, add water but leave enough room for the amount of blue devil you’ll need. This depends on your coolant capacity. Pour slow then let it idle for 50 minutes and your done. Then just drain the radiator and fill w coolant. You can leave the rest in there.
