if you vent a blow off valve back in to the intake can you still here the psssh sound...now i know its louder venting back into the atmosphere..but i dont wanna do that..any info would be great thanx

alright thanx man thats all i need to know...i just got my clipse on sat so im just startin to work on it...im very happy with it..its a 98 gst...ordering intercooler pipes for it next week and putting a full 3 inch exhaust on it...3 inch is a good size right now to big?

2nd gens are louder. (at least mine is) my 97 gst's bov is louder than my 91 gsx's and both are vented back into the intake. i can hear both. in between shifts. (3" exhaust--it leaves you a decent exhaust for when you need it. you don't really need it now, even with the ic pipes. not till you do some serious mods. some people say that may be too big, but i am all for it. do it right the 1st time & you will never have to backtrack. good luck with everything.

thanx man but like will the 3 inch take away to much back pressure or whatever therefor lose power? just curious..

probably not, you should be fine. whatever size the downpipe is, you do not want to go smaller past the downpipe. just make sure that if the downpipe is 3", so is the cat/test pipe, & the cat back. you should be fine. might as well get the right part in the beginning & not suffer later. (like i am)

Just as a side note with turbo engines you want to usually eliminate as much backpressure as possible, unlike with N/A enignes some back pressure can be benificial.

what the 'Stang guy said.

On turbo cars, you could run a 4" straight pipe right from the turbo out a hole in the hood and you would not loose any torque.

Why this happens is because the turbine wheel is in the path of the exhaust stream, and this puts enough backpressure on the system. Also, once you mod it a bit and it makes lots of hp(read flow) it will just make so much power that even if you lost a bit down low due to the open exhaust you would never miss it due to the extra torque from the boost of the turbo.

These little wee 2.0 liter engines will make 5.0 liter or even 5.7 liter torque with out much trouble.

oh and "clink" right back atcha :D
