Where do you get them? Every body kit I have found only has the high skirts in the set...and I think the low ones fit perfectly with the contours of our doors.

Also I have a 1995 Eagle Talon Esi without side skirts...I take it I have to mold these ontop of those?

 i'm an idiot...where'd you search for that? I used google and did Mitsubishi Eclipse Blitz Low Height Side Skirts and got nothing...but thank you very much those are exactly what I want.

Matt

a lot of the major body kit sites sell them for the 2gs, i have them and they are by far my favorite side skirt for the 2g, simple and clean without a overkill side vent. i got mine from visracing.com check my gallery for pics :thumb:

holy crap tunerkid...awesome ride...those side skirts look awesome on it...mine won't look that good but it will look better than it does now LOL... :thumb:

But does anyone have any information about what to do with aftermarket side skirts on a talon that doesn't have any to begin with? Should I cut the metal and fit em on or just mold them on? I was reading a post about how some 2g's have side skirts and some don't...so i'm a little confused with putting on my kit...

if your car doesnt have any side skirts then installing them shouldnt be a problem. i have an RS so i didnt have any sides also. when you get your skirts hold them up to your car to make sure they are going to fit (i got mine from vis so they were pretty good quality - i had to do ZERO prep work for them to fit) my friend that works at a body shop painted my kit for me and then i helped him put it up. heres how we put the sides on.... first clean the area where the skirt is going extremely well. we then took doubled sided tape and put it on my car, then pressed the skirts againt it, as i was holding the front of the skirt solid, he took 2-3 rivots and rvioted the side into place on the inside of the front wheel well, then made my way to the back pushing on the skirt the entire time to keep it lined up, then we rivoted the back, wasnt really that hard IMO. it jsut takes a few people to make it a lot easier and to make sure everything is lined up. good luck.

Ahhh okay, yeah that doesn't sound too hard at all. Thanks for the reply...can't wait to get started!

I think that you must do one of two things to make those skirts look good. One way is to keep the trim piece so that the line that the skirt is made to match remains, otherwise it is just creating two lines (front and back) that don't run down the car. The other way to keep it looking good is to mould it so their isn't a line to be broken.

I'm looking into the urethane thing right now.

Rivoting holds well, but how the hell are you supposed to be able to remove the kit without damaging it now? What happens when its time to repaint the kit? Screws are a better way to go. WTF

Can anybody find the low sides in urethane anymore?

I've been looking for low cut urethane ones for a long time, without any luck. I agree with the opinion that the low-cut style looks like a better fit along the lines of the car. I think they only make the high-cut ones in urethane.

Actually shpyder, I think that with the angular rearward scoops in your front lip, the BC2 skirts could be easily pulled off, though the Blitz low rise (sometimes refered to as 'Battle Z') are the cleanest for a stock car and I'm not sure if one is lower than the other.

On another note, other than fitment issues, what is the main reason for urethane skirts. Who really scrapes their skirts? I can see front fascias or lips, but not rear bumpers and skirts. If they made urethane blitz lows, I'd buy them over the fiberglass ones. But for skirts, I wouldn't rule a good looking set out simply because they weren't urethane.

You could drill them out? If you're careful it will not damage the body pieces.

Yep you could, but you could save all the effort and frustration with screws :)

That's true. The only reason I would buy urethane skirts over fiberglass ones, is fitment. The added flex of the urethane would be a good thing to just in case, nevertheless.

I have a 2" drop and the Rdora bodykit, I scrape the skirts every second day. Broken them adleast 5 times now. OMG The corners near the wheel wells are what are so low to the ground.

That's good information. But I think that a 2" drop is excessive and those trying to balance looks and performance wont lower their car too far as it negatively affects handling.
