I've had a Big16G for about a year now, and I am still somewhat unimpressed with the track performance I am getting. The thing feels so fast compared to just about any car I've been in (even an 11 second Porsche and a low 12 second Z06), but the times just don't add up...
With my stock 14b, a 3" cat, 15 PSI, on a hot night I ran a [email protected]. Recently, with my Big16G, test-pipe, injectors, MAF-T, intake, 20 PSI and some race gas I ran a measley [email protected]. Granted that's nearly a 5 MPH increase but I expected that from the other mods alone without the turbo upgrade and boost increase. Both of these runs were made with stock IC except upper IC pipe, 3" downpipe and catback. I imagine if I got more runs in I could get it down to a high 12 @105 or so, but I want more.
The track conditions were horrible (stock LS1s were running ~14.0@100 or so and I was faster than every DSM there) but still -- it's not fast enough.
Other than the stock IC, I think the other big thing slowing me down is the fact I'm running a 6cm turbo housing. The compression looks good and there are no exhaust or boost leaks. No weird datalogs, everything checks out, runs a tiny bit rich but nothing to worry about.
Should I look around for a 7cm housing or will I not even notice the difference? Any other suggestions?
