I just got my First DSM (First non American Muscle Car to be exact) and I'm very excited to get it all built. I am purchasing a Big 16G used with a TurboXS MBC and SS oil feed line for $400. I was wondering if I can install it on my Stock engine and not have to worry about leaning out ATM. I'm going to be getting a 3" GM MAT with the v2.08 MAFT for fuel tuneing and run it as a blow thru along with a 3" Down Pipe and 3" Apexi N1 exhaust. And was planing on just useing the B&M FPR Commander to increase the Fuel Pressure while I use the B16G. Does this sound ok to use??

Would I have heat soak problems with the stock SMIC with the Big 16G? I like in the middle of now where so Stop and Go driving is pretty much non existant. Any Feedback go or bad is welcome. :)

hmm you can run it with stock fuel for now, but I would hack your maf and get a filter first. Until you get some fuel management and at least rewire your fp I wouldn't boost more than like 10-12 psi. If you're really lookin to tune it, I'd pick up a pocketlogger system as well so you can get accurate readouts of your af and knock etc.

Why would he hack his mas, if he is getting the gmaf30? It really depends on how much boost you are running, whether ur ic will get heatsoaked or not. Usually people need a front mount with a big 16g. U might want to look into getting a street imports core for around 300 and making your own piping for around 100.

Hard to say-- I heat soak mine pretty easily, but I'm in south Florida (and in a metro area with quite a bit of stop-and-go) and you're in ND. But you can still use the SMIC with no huge problems as long as you don't go crazy with the boost. The only drawback is that you'll probably get more knock when the IC heats up.

Good info guys... thank you... I am going with a FMIC once I can sorce one out of a Big Rig junk yard for next to nothing and am going to get some mandrel bends and build my own IC piping.. As for the datalogger I just picked up a M105 for that purpose and am waiting for someone to build me a cable... I'm not going to run more than 12 PSI until I do a rewire and get a good fuel press reg... thanks kept some good info comeing if I'm missing something...

Ok here is what all is going in with the Turbo...

I already have a Hacked Filter Canister with a K&N on their useing the Stock 1G MAS..

AutoMeter Vac/Boost gauge
AutoMeter A/F guage
GReady EGT that reads to 2500F
Big16G w/ SS oil feed line
TurboXS MBC
New Fuel Pres. Reg. w/Press. Guage
Fuel Pump rewire
Palm M105 useing MMC to DataLog

And if I can still afford it a Full 3" Turbo Back Exhaust.. Might have to go with a shop as it's much much cheaper than getting a built one right now...

I'm thinking that these will pretty much kept me from going insainly Lean and I hope I can run like 12-14 PSI of boost with my stock injectors...
