You're way over thinking this. Just bolt it on.Centering it..
Once the 4 bolts are in but not right I can move throttle bottle left, right, up , or down. And if it's to far one way it will have a vacuum leak
I needed this today ... ThankyouYou're way over thinking this. Just bolt it on.

Unless something has been modified I don't see how.If I just bolt it on I get a boost leak..
The gaskets will go on more than one way and if you do it wrong I believe it leaks. If I just bolt it on I get a boost leak..
Yup. Thats true of throttle body to manifold. If memory serves elbow to throttle body is symmetricalThe gaskets will go on more than one way and if you do it wrong I believe it leaks.
I have the gasket on right.. it's matched up correctly. When putting the actualy throttle body on there is slack and it can move left right up or down.. so I can tighten it and have it a the way to the left. Or right. Or top. Or bottom. I'm having a problem getting it centered with out leakingThe gaskets will go on more than one way and if you do it wrong I believe it leaks.
At first I did have the gasket the wrong way. The. I noticed there's a round spot that matches the gasket round spot. So I have that right. Now I'm trying to get the TB CENTERED.. NOT THE ELBOWThe gaskets will go on more than one way and if you do it wrong I believe it leaks.
It leaks if just bolt it on. Or I wouldn't be asking for help.I needed this today ... Thankyou
How about some pics to show us where the problem lies? It’s 2 bolts and 2 studs/nuts that holds the tb against the intake manifold. Not rocket science

Did somebody enlarge the holes? I asked the bracket question to make sure youre not bottoming out some bolts.I'm having a problem lining it up. Have you read any of the other comments. One guy explains that since the wholes the bolts go threw are much bigger then the bolts. Leaving room for it to move. And I know its not rocket science. Was just asking if there was a certain way to do it.

I TB surface clear and smooth.. nothing is on it. I also have it on the correct way. I can garuntee that. Can you please post a picture of the throttle body gasket surface, the gasket and the intake gasket? Would also be nice if you posted a pic of them together so we can see why it is moving around.

It sounds like somebody drilled the holes out for some reason. Can you please post pics so we can help you? Also you need to rule out the bolts bottoming out because you're missing the bracket. Unless it was running fine before.Have you read any of the above comments?
Check out #4. He understood what I was saying.. the TB bolt holes are pretty big and the throttle body would dangle.
It was running fine before. I have a second throttle Bodie and the holes are the same size. PLEASE READ #4It sounds like somebody drilled the holes out for some reason. I did buy another TB. the holes are the same size. The bolts ... or studs for a 1g throttle body are m8 x1.25.... right? The holes should be slightly larger than 8mm.... if they are larger than it was modified and I’d buy another throttle body. This is a really stupid problem to have ...Post pictures , it’s simple
People are confused because noone has read the posts above. POST 4.. That guy explained why it's has some play..Well seems like a lot of people are still confused and wanting to help haha There are plenty of people asking for more info after post 4. If that is how you fixed it then mark it as fixed, sounds like post 4 is what you need to do.
Problem is you don't know if anything was modified or not. Let's assume that it is. Why don't you wrap a little electrical tape around the bolts where it goes through the throttle body. It isn't a sealing surface inside the holes. Just enough to take up the slack and not be loose.People are confused because noone has read the posts above. POST 4.. That guy explained why it's has some play..
If people read other comments they wouldn't be confused with what I'm talking about.
