Best Turbo AWD racing tranny?

Just want you guys input on what racing tranny would be best for my AWD Turbo Talon 2g? Mine went an i want to get a racing tranny for it? thanks, LATE

BMTranny and TRE can both help you, I think BM has a quicker turnaround time though.

I just purchased mine from Shepherd Racing (shepracing.com) and it is kick ass. The guys at BM Tranny were assholes to me, and Team Rip would not return my calls. Personally, i would not buy a 3800.00 transmission from team rip when John Shepherd runs low 9's on his race tranny that costs about 2 grand less.

yeah,give your buisness to John,his prices are great and you won't find better work. i have heard bad things about TRE(they would'nt even answer my emails) and have heard semi-neutral stuff and good things about BMtranny,i have heard nothing but Great things about John Shepherd and the products he sells. plus the fact that all his parts are race proven and its easy for anyone to see that.

Shep does a great job but don't count out BMTRANNY. Give them a call and see what they can do 4 you.

How much did you pay for the tranny? or do you thinbk i should just rebuild my old one with hardened gears?

or you could give me a try. Our shop extremepsi.com does tranny rebuild. We can do 2nd gear double synchro, galant 1st gear conversion, evo shift forks, better 3rd/4th gear, welded center diff, and etc for $350 of labor. You bring the parts. Prefer local business.

I ahve had my tranny from tre for about 10k miles, it took 3 months to get but I did it over winter so I wasnt to concerned with that. they were slow returning my calls and e-mails but they did return them and I love the tranny.

You really should compare apples to apples. The 3800 tranny from TRE(only $3300 after core right now) is a factory brand new tranny, that is then built up.
Those things cost $2000 or more by them selves, so I doubt Shep is selling a factory new tranny that is built with his mods for $1800.

TRE sells a rebuilt one for $1800. Or you can get yours rebuilt for less. It all depends on the mods you want done. The website is http://www.teamrip.com/

Why even post this, if all you know about it is what you have heard through the grapevine? I have a TRE tranny. It shifts great, even at 8K RPM. This topic has been covered here to death though.

Im sure that the TRE trannies are great, but that does not do anybody any good when you can not get them on the phone to buy one.
