I have mine in my oil filter housing mainly for convenience of install, but I also wanted it post-engine pre-cooler to see what the max oil temps were. Oil pan is going to be post-cooler, isn't it?
Wish they had one of those back in the nineties. Wouldn't have to drill and tap. But yeah, that location works very well.Easiest way to add an oil temp sensor is to drill and tap a stock oil pan bolt or buy one of these.
STM Oil Pan Drain Plug with 1/8
The STM M14x1.5 engine oil pan drain plug is machined with an 1/8" NPT temperature sensor provision to allow you to install a temp sensor right into your drain plug.
