ok here is the deal. before you ask all of us on this forum whether you should go turbo or not, or my other favorite "is it worth it" take a second and think

ask yourself these questions
1. Is it worth my time and effort, or my money?
2. What are the pros and cons of going turbo?
3. How much will it cost, and can i afford to do it?
4. Will I have to pay someone to do the work, or can I do most of it.?


Then do some research on what you will need to do, or talk to someone who has done it. It will save everyone else a whole lot of time telling people whether or not its worth it to turbo their car. Remember its your car.


Sorry, just had to vent. Im tired of seeing all these people trying to disuade others of doing something they want to do, and people asking others what they should do to their car.

yeah good one nutshot. If people do their research there is no reason for them to have to post that. I have a website in my fav. list w/ 1/4 mile times of various cars. I know what I can and can't beat.

What I'm getting tired of is the 4g63 folks coming in here and saying "Buy a stock turbo car because [insert information we've only heard elevinty billion times here] and 420a's suck". Two things - OBVIOUSLY if we have an N/T we have it for a reason so quit saying to go buy a turbo car. Secondly, I have no problem with the 4g people at all. At least not until they come to the n/t forums and start flaming on the n/t cars and telling us to go buy turbo dsm and not turbo our n/t. No need to be self righteous and think you're "doing us a favor" or whatever goes on in your head when you type up that response or decide to argue why we SHOULDN'T turbo our cars. If you don't like it get the f*ck out of the N/T forums.

This is ONLY directed at the FI people who do that. I'm cool with most of you but some of you I'm sick of seeing that from or when someone asks a question you don't answer and just flame.

good point Kage. and thanx for stickin up for my 1.8 when I had a few 2.0t tellin me not to rebuild and turbo, just get rid and buy a turbo car.

Hey no problem I'm just sick of all the criticism that we get cause we want to build our cars up.

With your rational, why even do any work to ANY car? I mean come on the factory built your car the way they did for a reason so why put any mods on it to make it go faster? Just buy a domestic and drop a V8 in it
If the only thing you can say to a question asked in this forum is "get a turbo DSM" then get out. I think I speak on behalf of ALL the members who are tired of seeing that damn response to everything asked.

I think it's unwise to comment on a topic you obviously know nothing about. Honestly it's too bad that I don't live in Livermore anymore (about 60 minutes from Galt) or I'd be happy to take a nice stroll down to your town and setup a friendly race with you. Right on! If there wasn't a decent amount of good 4g63 people I'd change the saying from "420a - crankwalk sold seperately" to "420a - cocky attitude sold seperately"
