Does the baro sensor feed a voltage signal to the ECU or is it like the Air Flow Meter a Hz reading, and if so what are the readings?

Just doing a little brain storming;)

I know what you`re up to . . . trying to lower the baro.reading to the ecu so it won`t monitor for misfires in your 6 bolt swap.
It is a voltage value I think. I`ve read mixed feedback on this mod. Some guys say it works, while others say that the modified lower baro. reading alters the timing map that the ecu.uses at lower baro. circumstances, & causes knock . . .

No you are wrong. I am trying to use a mustang SVO BAP sensor unit in place of the baro sensor along with a IAT probe off a GM.

The Ford BAP uses a Hz signal like the kaman sensor but is taking a vacuum signal to run it (and the SVO was a boosted engine). The IAT has the same restance as the kaman unit. I found a male&female 8 pin connector so I am going to jumper it all togther and try it on the wifes car (if it does not work just unplug every thing and back to normal). If it does I am going to hook it into the wireing of the MAFT to undo the fixed settings.

If it works it should be a trick setup, if not nothing ventured nothing gained. Seeing as I have all of ten bucks tied up in it.

OK scratch the BAP, two steps back and a hard right. How about taking a old 6pin MAS unit gutting the Baro unit out of it and remote it somewhere in the engine room like beside the maft? That leaves everything as stock as possable and talking to one another.

Am I still way out in left field or might this just fly.

Steve, I am at 21Ft. in mid summer the temp can get up to 100+ for weeks at a time in less than 1.5Hrs. you can be up to 6000Ft.and down in the 50s. So I think some way to ajust the Baro + Temp. would be a nice addition. I know the hot wire does some but even GM uses a IAT and a MAP sensor in there systems.

I know I might be:beatentodeath: but if I can pull it off on the cheep why the heck not. If it does not work the most I will be out is $100 or less

So just let a old man have some fun:) and if it don't wotk you can say I told you so and a I will unplug it and put my tail between my legs and retreet.

By the way I picked up a 6 pin mas cut off the karman so the way it is setup it has the Baro and the wireing coming out the side for the IAT in one nice 2X4X1.5" box.

You can have as much fun as you like, it's your car. I just know now that I can unsubscribe.
