I'm wondering if the automatic in a 95 Eclipse 2.0 non turbo and the NVT-350 use the same final drive ratios.

Also can anyone tell me the model # of the automatics in these cars? I've searched the DSM cd and the Haynes manual and came up empty.

I'm looking to install a lower final drive (numericly higher). I presently have a 1995 2.0 n/t with a 5 speed with from what I've read, 3.94 final drive. Someone has got to have made a different set of differential gears for these cars?

Thanks, Bob

Couldn't tell you for sure about the exact specs,

But I thought the redline on automatics is set at 6500. I don't know if that has any effect on the gears inside, but just in case you needed the info.

I believe the automatic transmission is called the F4AC1, while the manual transmission is called (by Mitsubishi at least) the F5MC1. NV-T350 is the model number assigned by New Venture Gear, the company who produces our transmission.

As for the final drive gearing... I do not think the gears between the A/T and M/Ts are compatible whatsoever. Looking over the schematics and plans, the gear trains look completely different: but I could be wrong. I think your best bet would be to contact New Venture Gear to see if they have any suggestions for aftermarket gearing options. Perhaps there is another NVG transmission that shares similar gears with ours.
