Hi all,
Figured this would be a good place to drop this question regarding automatic transmission supporting components. I'm very new to the Auto side of the DSM world, but with higher power goals and depleting manual parts (along side a fiance that really doesnt enjoy a quartermaster 7.25) Im starting to dig into whats needed to convert a manual to auto.
Question: Are the supporting parts from an auto the same from 2g GST's to GSX's? Shifter and cables, starter plate, harness, TCU ect. Obviously the trans is different, and the GST lacks the T case and Diff. I ask because I'm having a tough time finding an AWD parts cars near me, but there are plenty of FWD. It would make life easier if I could ship a trans, case and diff while sourcing the remaining parts locally from FWD cars.
Now I have read over 4wa33.com and atdsm.com, getting the gears turning, soaking up all the information as I go. Not asking what parts are needed, just whats compatible.
Thanks Tuners!
