auto trans newb need help

i know its not the same but they have to be similair, my girlfriends 89 honda is having problems i put it on here cuz this is were i get all my info.

when it shifts to overdrive it feels like a slipping clutch would in a manual, also it is starting to do this in reverse.

what would cause this?
how hard is it to fix?
how much would it cost?

by the way i have done 3 rebuilds on awd 5 speed dsms(1 second gen and 2 first gens) but i am wondering if this job is out of my legue cuz i don't know much about autos

pretend i never said honda, i am guessing it should be simaliar as a fwd auto dsm

It sounds like her trans has slipping clutches and is hosed.

I definitely wouldn't recommend trying to rebuild a Honda automatic yourself if you say you don't know much about autos.
