...All I can do is laugh...so insecure and angry....ahh......it's ok......

How do you figure? No more insecurities than your average person...and angry..nah..not really.

....I have seen a picture of you, it was that drawing of you looking at poop, you don't look so scary to me. ...

Alright, now that was funny. :)

...If you want to make more enemies, that's fine w/ me, although I think you're getting greedy. Apparently you know everything about cars and tuning and anyone who tries to question your logic or calls you on something, well, they are just wrong and suck.....Baaaaah...

Not trying to make more enemies at all. However, I will not compromise my opinions or beliefs for anyone. I think tevenor said it best. "At least you know where you stand with me." I don't know everything about cars, but I do now a great deal, and yes, I'm proud of that fact. But I also am opinionated, and will voice my opinion through whatever means I deem neccessary, and yes I may step on a few toes here and there, but you can NEVER accuse me of being a follower, or pulling my punches, or being a sheep. This entire thread was based on opinions. Theirs was that Walbro fuel pumps are too much man-land for them. Mine was that they are weenies. Where's the conflict?

...BTW, that 'dick' comment? Real mature, son. Can see your well adjusted....

Ever hear the phrase 'get off his nuts?' I figured you'd know what I was talking about, and didn't think you would take it to mean that I actually thought you were sitting atop Kevin's penis. Kids these days...

NosLaser.. why do you carry such a hatred towards most DSMers... its like its yer way or no way and if someone disagree's with you you get all crappy about it.. I mean this is a real mature comment

"There is a whole other world out there when it comes to fast cars. DSM'ers are WEENIES. "

And FYI.. I like the sounds a car makes as well, hence the reason I like the lumpy idle of cams I have, I like the loud deep exhaust I have, I like the woosh of my BOV.. but I dont like a whiney fuel pump.. thats why I asked..

It's not just DSM'ers. Its people who sit on the fence; who talk the hardcore game; who pose to be something they are not, but when it comes down to sh!tting or getting off the pot, they jump off faster than poop through a Goose. People who say they want a 10 second 4 cylinder, but then wonder if they'll still get 25 mpg and pass emissions and be able to drive it every day in the rain really need to step back and get a clue. People have NO fathoming of what it takes to go fast. This isn't Gran Turismo. This may be news to some people, but to make 500+ horsepower, you are going to have to learn to live with things like a noisy fuel pump, a loud exhaut, a lopey idle, some compromise in driveability. ESPECIALLY in a 4 cylinder. The problem with DSM's is this. They are too fast for the mods and the money from the very start. On a 1g, you can do free mods and be in the 13's, do exhaust and a fuel pump, and be in the 12's. What this does to the fragile little mind is make people think this theme carries over to the day the car dies. They think the next little mod is going to give them low 12's, or 11's, and the next little mod is gonna give them 10's. And then 9's are tright around the corner!! All for under 5 grand in a 4 cylinder that gets 30 mpg and drives smoother than a Grand Marquis! It's not REALITY. I work for Mercedes-Benz. I have people calling me up asking if they can lease an S500 (80K dollar car) for $400 a month. When I say no, they say "well, my Toyota Camr is only $400 a month!" And I can only dumbfoundedly say, 'If you could lease an S500 for the price of a Camry, EVERYBODY would be driving one!' It's not reality. If DSM'ers, and for that matter, the unwashed masses of 'car guys' who like to think they are serious about cars, would spend a little more time EDUCATING THEMSELVES rather than buying parts they have no clue what to do with, you'd have a lot more knowledgeable crowd, and a lot more fast cars. It is RIDICULOUS to have a car with a stock fuel system, stock intercooler, stock fuel control, and be wondering what turbo to upgrade to!! It's lack of knowledge, and plain lack of common sense. Maybe I have personal issues, because stupidity to that extent seriously and truly drives me up the wall. I come off harsh because it's just plain upsetting. Sh!t or get off the pot!!! If you have a budget of $1000 dollars to spend, don't go trying to build an 11 second car!! If you are gonna spend umpteen thousand dollars on an engine management system, a big turbo, a nice fuel system, why do you think that you'll just get by with a stock motor, and not spend any money there? Spending money on all the wrong parts is another thing that kills me. I could go on and on, and the only reason why I say 'DSM'ers' is because I see it HERE, and we're here. I'm sure if I owned a Honda, or a Mustang, or whatever, I'd be accusing Honda guys or Mustang guys of the same thing I'm accusing DSM'ers of. That part is simply about demographic. Anyways, I've just wasted some time ranting off about something that you guys won't even understand.

actually i understand it completely.. but the problem is insulting people isnt going to cure the problem.. if someone asks me what turbo to upgrade to which I get asked more often then youd believe I ask what their goals are, they tell me and I say well what are you doing fuel wise and there response is the same as mine was when someone asked me the same question long time ago, what do you mean fuel work??

its a general misunderstanding in the DSM world that you can just slap on a big turbo and go fast, this as we both know is not true.. but no one slapped me in the face and called me a newb or whatever it may be, someone explained to me that you have to upgrade the fuel system and other stuff first and pointed me out to the RRE 2g Upgrade list at which point in time I followed it step by step.. This is what I try to do as well.. If people still dont understand then do what you must but keep the flaming on here to a minimal..

Wow, all for a fuel pump.

I see everyone's point here and figure I might as well jump in. Larry, you make a good point and you are right when you describe how you handle the repeated questions over and over again. You are right for you along with how other people are. I try to do the same but get tired sometimes, in which case, I let it slide and say nothing. Aslan, is brash, to the point and gets there through sarcasm or plain meanness (as some of you feel), and he is right for who he is. Sometimes I am like that too. Everyone is. It goes on the same way for everyone on this board. Each one of us is very different, in personality or knowledge, or idiocy or whatever. Aslan described himself to a T, that he pulls no punches an tells it how it is. He does that, and over the internet, he comes off as a d!ck to some people. But I bet if you saw him in person and asked a question like the fuel pump and he looked at you, cocked one eyebrow and said, "Let me get you some testosterone, Mary.", you'd laugh (well, I would). Then again, maybe he is a d!ck in person and you wouldn't laugh, but rather want to knock him out. Who cares. He gives you a perspective from a racers point of view. It costs money to race, do it right the first time, you'll hear od and annoying sounds, etc. that is his view. Most people here have daily drivers and want them plush AND fast, giving up little compromise if any, and don;' wnt to hear what Aslan has to offer. But what he has to offer in knowledge is worht it. i personally like both points of view. It is very valuable to hear both sides and I am truly seeing it first hand having a 2G kept nice and quick with comforts and lower noise levels and a 1G which is just loud, obnoxious and and faster and will eventually fly. Since day one no one has really like Aslan because since day one he has been himself, direct, sarcastic, etc etc. And since day one, everyone has come down on him, knowing how he is. We are all individuals. You don't need to like him. You don't need to answer his posts either. If you do, remember he is giving his opinion his way. Let it be. I personally laugh at his posts because they are funny since I guess we think the same way on some subjects. But most of all, I learn a lot from his posts, and that includes some educated replies to his posts from other people. Now I know this board strives for harmony, new people not being ostracized, abundance of info, etc, and that is awesome and why I am here. I like that. But you have o remember it just isn't possible 100% of the tim. You don't have to, nor will you ever get along with everyone. But you should know when to listen to someone, no matter how much of a d!ck you think they are. Just weed through the crap and get the valuable information.

Just my 2 cents that I can barely afford.

I just wonder why people are geting all touchcy anyway, I mean it a internet message board who care what he says or how he says it as long as he giving out the right info.

Thank you Rich. You actually hit quite a few nails on the head.
