I was thinking of getting an Artec cast turbo v band manifold for my 2g dsm and was wondering if anyone has used them before with success or is it better to go with a Morrison Fabrication tubular manifold

Haven't used one but my brother has one for his KA24DE and it's a quality piece. I don't think if it's a fair comparison, Artec vs Morrison, as one is cast and the other tubular. However, I would choose Morrison over an Artec any day.

All comes down to space and placement. I'm looking at my next turbo to finish my goals and manifolds is one to consider. The Artec is nice and keeps it clear and for my setup is ideal due to my venting / air flow extractor setup.

I could make one also and I have always loved Morrisons since day one.

I have some questions on the Artec though from the design point but im sure they have the data on flow and placements etc to share.

It's expensive but so far the feedback from them is oretty good and the heat control is good also being cast and easy covering options available

Artec is good for cookie cutter setups, it locks the user into single scroll v-band setups with only one placement/routing option.

One racer in Malaysia seems to like his DSM-style setup and it's certainly a very high-performing piece on Evos with the full downpipe and 3.5" exhaust kit. You'll still need to run the downpipe and wastegate dump, but the hard work is done and it's pretty straight forward.

You go to Morrison when you want something custom - either fitment, flange, placement, different turbo style, performance goals, you name it. Overall the final cost is going to come out relatively close, I say buy the one that you can tailor to your needs and arrives complete. We're blessed to have Morrison Fabrication willing to custom make setups for our cars at such a reasonable price, they knocked it out of the park on my EFR kit.
