You might as well do it while you have everything apart. Nothing more frustrating than getting it all back together and then having something break.
 
I agree. Do it when your have the engine apart. You will regret it when you have to replace your head gasket in the next month. Good luck.

What do you guys think about replacing the rod bolts with the engine in the car? I'm looking to do this and from Pruven's post on evolutionm.net, it would appear that the chances of knocking the rod out of spec is minimal.
 
What is involved in using ARP's rod bolts and main studs? I am having everything align honed as we speak(mains and rods). I believe align honing the mains and rods are a requirement before you go with the ARP's rod and main bolts. If I remember correctly, you also need some dowels....right?
 
the arp rod bolts are not neccessary for aligned honed, but the arp main studs are required to do so. Good luck.
