Has to be I just bought my second DSM today. Was looking for parts for my 420a and found hole 97 GST for same price as 420a engine around here and all it needs is tranny changed out new one came with car.

So you're the guy who stopped by. ;)

The car was mistreated before Kory got ahold of it, but it made a trip back from Texas so that says a lot about the engine. It really just needs some love and time that he never got around to giving it and I could never help out due to Holidays - which my job is centered around Holidays. I don't know what you guys agreed on, but the car is worth saving. If I had a place to store another vehicle I'd pick it up.

Hey man, good luck with the build. Glad you are saving that beauty, the previous owner should be beat.

Thanks, gonna try to get this car up to better standards. Right now I want to get it back running and after that we can play with tuning as time/funds allow. I don't like to do a job shady, which is what has been done.

Have some other issues to address like suspension and wheels (rubbing issues... car is lowered on 18" wheels ) but at this moment getting the enging swapped is my main concern.

The goal is to build a fun and good looking daily driver that's reliable.

Know what sort of suspension is installed?

Yeah I added kory yesterday on here so figured when you said you had all those DSM's that you were on here too. I think it be a good one to fix up, the build will be slow but Ill have the beauty up and running in now time, just debating on using the demon 420a model for parts on GST or keep looking for a motor and build it too

It'd be quicker and easier to get the GST into daily driver condition. ;) There is a huge market for stock parts and pieces, and of course you now have this site for a resource where you stumble across great deals all the time.

Hey where can I find a cheep set of OEM pulleys. I don't think I'm going back with the unorthodox pulleys.

Good idea, aftermarket pulleys are a bad idea. Welcome To Extreme PSI sells some, as well as most vendors on this site do too. I'm sure you could search the classifieds and find almost anything you're looking for though :thumb:

whats a good timing belt to get. cause extreme psi has the kits that you can get the balance shaft elim kit with it but I dont know waht belt to get with it.

Anyone have any suggestions on what color I should paint my brake calipers? Its a whit 1ga body that's going to have black and tan interior?

These are dual piston brakes, not stock.

Aluminum I would white to make them stand out but it shows all dirt on them, black you want see them really unless you look hard at them, I would go with a bright red or orange to catch everyone's eye and makes them look more like a performance part with the bright color too ( what I would do- but I like eye candy)

Or just get a set of Brembos' which are red and then you do have a performance part.

Very clean looking Spyder you have there. :p If you ever blow the motor you can give me the crank.

Have you made sure that all of your grounds are up to date? Been over the wiring and ensured that nothing is corroded through? The number one killer in Alternator death is corroded wiring and bad grounds.

ty but no not an official multimeter testing, just a newbie look through, not very accustomed to working with the electrical system of cars. but ty i will make sure to find someone who is more experienced in wiring then i am to check for me, because its really become a nerve-some process replacing the alternator every 3 weeks or so and i really wouldnt know where to begin.

;) Could always toss a little money at one of us DSMers who are local to take a look at it for you. -nudge-

depends on how much you're talking, i was gonna try and get someone to look at it after i replaced it this time anyway! :p
