Well the talon finally moves on its own power. The new clutch, pp, TOB, master, slave, and fluids did it wonders. Surprisingly the 6 puck is a lot smoother transition/engagement than I thought it would be. Drove it about 3 miles in stop and go neighborhoods and brought it back home. Got it parked over cardboard at the moment to ensure it doesn't have any serious leaks.

Only thing I've noticed is that it is pulling to the right, not sure if it needs and alignment or if I tightened down the passenger axle nut too much and it's causing some drag on the rotors. I'll pull it off tomorrow to check it out in more detail as I recheck the bolts all around.

On a side note, anyone going to the game tomorrow?

Pfft. Game? What game. ;P

What clutch setup did you go with again?

We may tailgate.

Right now I'm setting outside the house watching the blue angels practice. Its amazing the power and speed the f16 has and to think they are not running full speed. I so want to fly in one.

I went with the F1 Racing stage 3 pressure plate, 6 puck clutch, and a fidanza aluminum flywheel. We'll see how well it holds up. It'll be after Christmas before I put on my next big set of parts so it should get nice and broke in by then as I learn to tune link some.

I'll probably watch the game from home, next week is the game I'm looking forward to....even if we get spanked because the hogs have no defense now...

The CV axle nut holds the rotor on? Or pulling the hub? I would get a pry bar and check your. Bushings and ball joints.. sway bar (all the rubber) it will save you a headache if you do take it to the front end shop and they tell you you need a whole bunch of stuff....

I had to replace everything on my gran torino before they would even touch it....

I wish I could afford to go. I love airshows, when I was station in el paso our apartment was on a mountain overlooking the air field. I just got trashed and watched the angels a lil bit higher than eye level, loved it!

Wow, we could not have asked for a better Saturday for tinkering with the cars. I've had the windows open, doors open, working on the Talon all morning and afternoon. Took the car out for a 25 mile drive to see how things handled at different speeds. Decided to try braking rough in some different situations to figure out what my pulling to the right is being caused by.

The pull to the right typically happens during deceleration, doesn't matter if it is in gear or not so I feel that it probably isn't' driveline. Also, now't feeling any serious vibrations on any corners either. Pulled the wheels off again to see if things were hanging somewhere with the rotors or hub assembly but the left and right both feel about the same.

After putting everything back together and lowering it back down to the ground it seems that my front passenger side wheel has a camber issue with the top of the wheel pushing out at a weird angle. Probably need to go get an alignment but I know that my driver's side needs somethings replaced. The passenger seems to have had the lower control arm, balljoints, and boots replaced recently. Until then I will just take it easy around town, I have to break in the clutch anyway.

Well I was planning on trying to spend Mon-Fri doing purely work stuff as I know when the weekend gets here I won't h e the motivation and want to spend the day in the garage instead.

That being said, my dsmlink came in today....and I really want to play with it haha. Plans are to get the ecu installed, software installed, and zero everything out to a stock ecu install. Any tips on things I need to ensure to make the install go more smoothly other than why is in the ecmtuning site?

On a side note, I've discovered that my tierods are causing my suspension issues and plan on replacing things while I am at it. So far I have priced out 2 inner tie rods, 2 outer tie rod ends, 2 upper ballpoints, and 2 lower ball joints, 2 steering rack bellows. Anything else I should look into for the front?

As for the back, what you guys think I should check out before I go for the alignment?

ECU tunings site does a good job covering the install and basic set up. The videos are very helpful.

The one thing I did have to change was the firing order. The car has a cop and was wired for the 99 ecu. When we changed to the 95 eprom ecu I had to make the change.

Does anyone have an extra passenger side cv axle laying around?

Sorry man, all the spare axles I have is a 1gb awd.... not sure if they are the same. Do some research and if they are, I got one you can have, but I doubt they are.

Up to my eyeballs in 1g shit....

After looking at some other threads, you can swap on fwd with certain year 1g's, but can't go awd to fwd.:(

OMG guys let me tell you about this #@$%^%$$ cop I had to deal with today... Now I do over an hour of drive time now that I moved about 20 mins north of searcy. I was o highway 16 headed north to Pangburn where a stay. There was a police Tahoe in front of me all the way home. So I get to where I stay at and am almost into the house the police Tahoe pulls into my front yard. An officer gets out and walks into the yard a proceeds to tell me that I was tailgating him. I then told this guy to get off my property and that he was trespassing. I then told him he had no right to come in my yard being that his Tahoe said Higginson police. He then told me he was a deputy sheriff for white county and he would ticket me to prove it. I told him i wasn't tailgating him and he was riding the jeeps ass in front of him and again to get off my property again. He then looked at me with a dumb ass look and walked off. I'm sick of police taking advantage of their title. Why would i tailgate a vehicle that said POLICE on the back of it . I mean seriously? Thats like breaking into the police station. Spencer you know this ^&^&%$(* guy, Eric Patterson. So now I know I'm about to be a target for entire time I stay here. I haven't been at this location but for 3 days now and already being harassed by cops....... God I hate small towns!!!!!!

He isn't a deputy (that's like a private in the cop world) sheriff. He runs his mouth alot, I don't know how many times I've met that guy on 16 on the bike.... I triple digit that asshat every chance I get, atleast till pangburn hill. He will call ahead.

When I had my 4g I was racing a ion redline on 16 back when eric Patterson was the cop of pangburn, he was waiting for us as soon as we got into town... he rounded me and Keaton up and tried to give us a serious talking to,. I told him I passed a car right after he did and to gtfo.

Ahhh. Dumb shit I did when I was young....

I would ask him if he could see the squirrel behind the elephant in the room? I mean c'mon he has a jacked up tahoe...

Finally got a chance to look into my suspension issues. Looks like my passenger side inner tie rod and ends are both shot. All the other ball joints look good tho. Looks like I have a project for next weekend.

Also, got link installed and up and running. I gotta say, it is stupid how easy it is to use....

A few months ago I had bought my current 97 gst from Paragould and decided to do a quick speed test/handling. My couzin was in a 04 impreza wrx and we hammered it and around the 140mph mark we fly by a cop in a Tahoe. We pulled over and after a quick search of our vehicles. He let us go with a warning. My best guess is that he didn have time to clock us, and we got really lucky. I live 2 hours away from there so wont be seein him anytime soon. (I hope not anyways)

Would that happen to be MY old GST? ;)

Well this guy in the Tahoe is just a dick. I've had a few dealings with him before. When i get pulled over I am always nice and respectful because I am usually in the wrong for something but in this case being that I wasn't pulled over and he was just going to " tell me something about tailgating". I just went off. My record speaks for itself. It's not great by no means and as much money as I've paid to the police over the years I have a pretty good understanding about how police proceedure is. I have learned tho if their going to ticket you they are not going to wait till you get all the way to your house to do it and threaten you with it while they are " doing you a favor" ( god i hate it when a cop tells me that) talking to you in your front yard. He was just trying to bully me into his way of thinking and I was not having it but like I said I am a target now. If and when this dick gets behind me I am going to pull out the phone and start recording for evidence. I already have record of this incident cause I sent an email to the actual sheriff of white county concerning this douche...... now its just a matter of time.

Score. Just picked up a 16g for $150. Glad the prices are dropping again.

What trim did you snag? I've decided to stay with my bigT28 until I see how it handles at both autocross and drag. I'll be throwing in a meth kit this winter so I can eek out a little more from it due to the lack of 93 octane around here.
