Yeah you usually have to get the state to do a vin check on it then take the papers to the dmv and file for a lost title

Its kind of a creepy place. I hear banjos playing and he has cows and goats to keep the grass mowed LOL. I would try to find another one if possible and use that for parts. It needs alot. Its also a 87 im pretty sure.its a 2.6l. I would do a swap for a 4g63 if possible. That would be ####ing sick. I thought it was a AE86 at first glance. On a lighter note, the.new scion fr-s that was sopposed to be the new" supra" is sporting a AE86 badge. I really dig those cars, minus the quarter panel windows. Looks to much like a Damn TC and I hate those cars. ;)

Is that car a 5 speed if you know by chance

Only reason I ask is cause I can get a auto one that needs a turbo for 900 if he still has it

Uhhh yeah I'm taking everything from my car and transplanting it into the other. Not going to put an awd trans and run it fwd. taking the awd parts out of the shell and converting the body to fwd. I have all the part essentially from my gst. Just have to pull and install into the other. The only thing i really have to buy for the swap is a braided clutch line since his was auto. Going to be a fun weekend of work but if it saves me money I'm willing to put in the time. The estimate on my gst was 2k not including wheels and tires. If I'm buying a straight body with good paint and a set of wheels with good tires for $700 why not convert.

I saw some information about running an AWD trans as a FWD and just thought I'd toss the information out there. :p never assumed you were going to do it.

As I'm at work and can't focus - You're turning an AWD to FWD? " taking the awd parts out of the shell and converting the body to fwd." The only thing you'll need to do is install a FWD trans. Then down the road, slap in an AWD trans and hook up the driveshaft.

Does anyone have a 14b laying around? Doesn't have to be perfect, just needs to work.

I'd give it 5 stars thanks. it's all working now just figuring out how to get the oil gauge working. Did anybody check those youtube links I posted?

Ghh Damn phone! Brandon, I seen the videos, you will have to install a aftrrmarket oil gauge. Have you noticed that there isn't even a spot in the front case for the oil pressure sending unit? I reused the front case from the that motor and for some reason it doesn't have a spot for one. I searched and searched for an answer and havnt found any on why it is that way. I didn't catch it until it was put together :(. :sosad: its not the gauge or the wiring just no sending unit or a spot to install one.

the sending unit is right next to the oil filter.. Yea there is a light blue wire over in that area that is a hot wire and cant find anywhere it might go to. I also need a 1g bov.

Sorry I misread the comment. I was thinking of that but I don't want to be carying the extra weight of everything in the rear just so later on I can slap one in. I will hang on to the stuff i do pull out for that reason. I have to drive this thing 98 miles round trip M-F so I need to save on the weight if i can. I was getting pretty good mileage out of her before she got totaled out. 30-32 mpg highway. Not to shabby for a 95.

Anything 25+ is nice in these things. 30-32 is great mileage!

^^ Don't take my lack of emotes as coming off arrogantly. I usually just share information for people to nibble on.

So I finally got a chance to finish pulling the tranny from my talon to see what the exact people was causing disengagement issues.

Took me a few hours due to some stubborn transfer case bolts but finally got everything loose and found a wonderful surprise inside...

Luckily it isn't a hard problem to fix and all the parts are already here at the house. I plan on changing the rear main while I'm in here so putting it back together will be a slower process as I work on cleaning some things.

Also got a chance to use my engine stabilizer. Anyone else have one of these rigged up?

Nice. I like the stabilizer, beats using a block under the engine.

Looks like it's time to throw the throw out bearing.

Yea, the bar is made from 2x2 square tubing, a long threaded bar for lowering and raising the engine (I still use a jack but this is for when I pull the oil pan), old pegs from a bike when I was younger, and to ear tabs to stabilize against the strut mounts.

As for the TOB, I have an OEM replacement, F1racing stage 3 clutch (6 puck), fidanza aluminum flywheel, new pivot ball, clutch fork, and fluids ready to go back in. I also plan on doing some serious cleaning while it is out to get ride of 180k worth of grime.
