are you 'greedy' with your car?

This is kind of a stupid question, but I'm wondering if you guys are greedy with your cars, meaning you don't let anyone else drive them. I get sh*t because I refuse to let my hubby drive my car cause he breaks everything he touches. Just wondering if any of you are the same way.

It depends oh who it is and why they want to drive it. I would let my GF drive my car but she doesnt like the 2600 in it. Most of my friends are DSM or car guys so I dont care if they drive it either.

If you know he is going to break it then I see the a reason to not let him.

The reason I dont let anyone else drive my car is because I pay for the insurance, so I want any accidents to be my fault. I dont want my accident record in anyone elses hands.

the only way i let someone drive my car is if they have either a BETTER car or a FASTER car than mine

that narrows the "BETTER" cars down to zero.. and "faster" cars down to only a few

I have an easy fix for that. Explain it to him this way.

If you go to the doctor to have your female stuff looked at does the doctor get to use it becasue he worked on it. NO.

He may leave it alone after that.

I let my parents drive it. I let my best friend who is in for $50,000 on his prelude. He makes me drive his car all the time. I have no problem with him driving. I hate letting my brother drive. I know he drives like a moron with my parents cars and I could just imagine what he'd be like in my car with me not around. If I'm with him it's one thing, but by himself he probably rags on it bad. I can just see him trying to drive it like I do and messin up huge.

Yes I am greedy! No friends, no kids, and only one I do trust to drive it is my wife. Our family is big, my Laser is small.... ....he he, so she gets the 5th ave most of the time!

Hopefully we can get a mini van soon but we need the space!! That is how we ended up with the Laser, looking for a Mini Van! The wife encouraged it, luv u sweetie!! It sure is better than my 81 deisel rabbit that used to be my "work car". She is almost as much a car buff as me!

Anyway, yep, I am greedy. Eventually, we will buy a turbo and then I can give her the Laser n/a to drive........ he he!!

Im really stingy with my car. I have only let 3 others drive it since i have owned it, thats been about 2 and a half years. Well i let my step brther drive it, i kinda felt like i should since he let me drive his 3G that he just bought brand new that day. I also let my buddy drive it (i was in the car) that was maybe a mile, and not over 40mph. And finally i let somecrazy ass EVO guy on here drive it, what a mistake just kidding buddy. Actually let the EVO guy race it on a 1/8 mile track. Wanted to see what he could do since hes a better driver then i am.

The reson i do this is because my mom drover my car before she came back and said man that thing is fast i like it. I am extremely stingy with my car. It has only been driven by three people since I bought it besides me:

1) The mechanic who took it for a test drive after major work (tranny, timing belt, clutch, etc)

2) My best friend who only got to drive it half way around the mitsu dealership.

3) My dad who after he slipped the hell outta my clutch backing up out of our driveway hit boost. (no more moving the car privileges for him now).

I think I don't let people drive my car simply from the standpoint that I'm afraid that they'll bust something in my tranny with my 2600.

that's my thing - I know that if I'm in the car, they will drive normal. BUT...as soon as they get to drive it alone, they are getting on hard....then they get back and things are 'mysteriously' knocking, pinging, rattling....you name it. so that's why NO ONE drives my car

I have no problem letting my car friends drive it.

But a couple of my friends I don't think would realize how low it is and that they can't go 4-wheeling over speedbumps and such in it.

These are the same couple of friends who are always trying to drive my car. I get guilt trips... "but I let you drive my car!"....

and attempts to gain sympathy...."Please let me drive the Eclipse. It looks so good and my car.....doesn't."

Ironically, both these girls drive Mazda 626s.

i dont really care if my friends drive my car. they have more respect for me then to beat the ever living sh.. out of it. i dont care i they get on it cause thats the reason i bought the car and built it. but then again that may just be me
