I have alot of sway when i launch im all over road .So im replacing all tie rods and ball joints n stuff and was thinkin on buyin the suspension urethane kit for 1gs . Anyone have and how much does it help?

I'm running Energy Suspension Bushings in a 2g... I like them..

I'd go with ES over prothane on both a 2g or 1g.. They are harder to install than a prothane kit since they are one piece construction as opposed to split halves. RRE sells both... ES is what goes in there pet projects... nuff said..

The ES have a better compound than the prothane.. It is less prone to cracking and wont squirm around as much physically since they are a one piece design.. The prothanes are really hard.. Too hard which is why they are more likely to crack with time.. ES uses different compounds for different parts.. A Shock rod bushing will be softer than a control arm bushing etc... Attention to detail and a well thought out kit is a plus.. You will have to order the master kit and the swaybar bushings and other things not in the master kit seperately. The bar bushings don't come with the kit because of the different bar diameters people run.

Get the ES and find access to a 20ton shop press.

I'd highly suggest them, although it is a pain in the ass to install.

However, it probably won't solve the problem when you are launching, that is more of a springs/struts thing I would think.

On any car that is used as a performance car with age/wear/miles replace anything replacable in the suspension and get it aligned.

I don't know the tricks for 1g FWD's by heart so sorry I don't know more.

All i know is when I 1st got my inspection , they said my tie rods were bad .So i replaced themand got an alighnment .Car was fine for a few weeks..Then back 2 all over road.Dsmparts.com has a master kit and so does Dsm motorsport..But motorsport looks like theres come w motor mounts..

If you have an air hammer you can get them out with that too..

You will need just the right shape of bit to hit the edge of the sleeve but it can be done. That is how I did the rear spindle bushings w/o having to remove the spindle from the car...
