How difficult is it REALLY? I mean, looking at IPT's rebuild kit, there doesn't look like a lot of stuff. Its all gaskets, bushings, frictions, steels, bands, and seals for the most part. So has anyone ever done this before? What is the difficulty level on it? Anything particularly hard about it?

theres a lot of small parts (balls and springs) in the valve body that must be kept in order. other than that its straight forward as long as you keep stuff very clean, very organized, and have a lot of bench space. plus TAKE YOUR TIME. The end clutch seal is very easy to tear, along with a couple other seals.

Dirt and grit are your biggest enemy, have lots of brake cleaner (be simple and buy a case) but use brake clean and not carb clean.

Im in the same boat as to having to possible rebuild my auto awd trans for my 95' Tsi...I know teh IPT kit would be the best one to get, i ,also, noticed they sell a manual as well. So im thinking of buying the rebuild kit and the manual, tho , it should be noted that this trans DID NOT have any foward gears, will i be looking at buying more than justa rebuild kit here? Thanks guys!:dsm:
