My car is killing me. its taking all my money.
i just installed a tranny from this dude from the forum with a dm lsd. I installed the transmission along with an ACT 2100 and a fidanza flywheel along with a taboo Steel clutch fork. Now today i was going to miami, cruising with the A/C on doing about 65 when all of a sudden my 5th gear pops out! so i was okay maybe its only a one time deal. so i go to fourth and double clutch back into fifth. less that one mile and "POP" goes the weasel AGAIN. i drove over 40 miles with my finger keeping it in fifth gear until i reach to my destination. SAME PROBLEM on the way home again. The transmission makes no weird noises only pops out of fifth. What i notice is if i play with the throttle like dig deep or just let off a little bit i can see the shift knob moving slowly out and "POP" I hope it's not the synchros. I searched on the forum and i saw an article by DEFIANT SHIFTER POP FIX but i do not know if this applies to 2Gs. Anyway please help me as i don't have any more money to rebuild this tranny nor do i have the time to remove this tranny again.

this dsm is really a money pit but i love it to death!

Much obliged,
Vishal :dsm:

hey thanks soooo much. i'll try it tonight after work if i get time. the car is my highway car so 5h gear is the the celebrity gear so to speak!. LOL :rocks: thanks. i am praying this fixes it!!!! :sneaky:

Just make sure you have a razor blade, some brake parts clean, and some Permatex Ultra Grey. It's really important to get a good clean, flat surface that is completely oil free to seal the tranny back up. You don't want to have a slow tranmission leak. I would let the RTV set for at least three or four hours before filling the tranny back up and checking for leaks. Good luck.

i took apart the outer casing yesterday and the bolts were down there very tight! i have the roller blade bearings on the shifter assembly. i will put on the old one and see if that will fix my problem. it's funny, the car runs really good city driving, it never pops out of gear only on the highway!!!!
