I have done a search on alternators. I have noticed in all the 1g in a 2g pages, a 2g alternator is still required. However other results said a GVR-4 alternator works in a 2g.

Will a regular 1g alternator work in a 2g?

Thank you

The 1g and 2g have different style clips on the wiring harness and the alternator so they aren't compatible.
I don't know about the vr4.

Does anyone know how the connectors work on the alternators? The 2g has a 4 prong, the 1g has a 2 prong. I know that they are used to monitor the output of the alternator because when I unplugged it and started my car, the battery light disappeared. However, does the car regulate the output of the alternator to prevent it from making too much power as well??

Thanks
